Construction Project Manager
The Construction Project Manager oversees all phases of construction projects, from initial planning and budgeting to execution and closeout. This role ensures that projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget while maintaining high standards of quality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Coordination
Develop and review comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
Review architectural and engineering drawings to identify project requirements and potential risks.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to clarify scope and assumptions.
Project Execution & Oversight
Manage day-to-day construction operations across assigned projects.
Monitor progress and adjust schedules or plans as needed to meet deadlines.
Ensure all work complies with building codes, regulations, and company standards.
Direct responsibilities for project documentation that includes but not limited to submittals, RFIs, change orders.
Budget & Cost Management
Prepare and track budgets, cost estimates, and financial reports.
Approve expenditures, negotiate change orders, and manage vendors & subcontracts.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Update estimates in response to design changes or new information and monitor project cost performance versus estimates.
Management & Quality Assurance
Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Serve as primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors.
Provide regular updates, progress reports, and documentation.
Manage expectations and resolve issues promptly.
Ensure finished work meets design specifications and client expectations.
Project Closeout
Oversee punch lists, final inspections, and project handoff.
Ensure all documentation, warranties, and closeout packages are completed.
Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned.
Qualifications:
Associates and/or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience managing construction projects of varying size and complexity.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, regulations, and best practices.
Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Primavera, Bluebeam).
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
